Pocket Money Adventures is a story-led financial education programme for children aged 4 to 7. Pocket Money Adventures delivers the opening Spark Session, then teachers use six short Sidekick Cards to keep the same language alive. Four optional Family Missions take the routine home. An agreed funded place costs the school £0 for its specified package.
How it works
One opening session delivered by Pocket Money Adventures, six short teacher-led follow-ups and optional family activities. A school adult remains present throughout the Spark.

The Spark Session
Pocket Money Adventures delivers it in your chosen class: a 60 to 75 minute Spark Session on the normal teaching route. Where your school also joins the prospective evaluation, we agree a 90-minute slot, which allows for settling, transitions and two short whole-class captures. Joining the evaluation is optional and you may use the teaching resource without it. A story, a poster, and the Tap, Tap, Pause routine. The class teacher is in the room throughout.

Weeks 2 to 7
The class teacher runs one short Sidekick Card a week, designed for 1 to 5 minutes, with optional practice moments and a short check-in. The follow-up is designed around about 15 minutes of teacher time a week including preparation.

The Home Link
Four optional Family Missions go home in weeks 1 to 4, and the Parent Fridge Card stays up all term. Nothing returns to school.

Children aged 4 to 7: Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. It is designed for that band and evidenced so far in Year 1 and Year 2. The five core components are the same across the band, and only the depth of reasoning asked for, and the balance of action against discussion, change between ages 4 to 5 and 6 to 7. Core participation does not depend on confident reading, writing or calculation. Alternative pause cues and SEND/EAL adaptations are available. We agree access arrangements with the school for the actual class.
The Spark Session is 60 to 75 minutes on the normal teaching route, or an agreed 90-minute slot where you also join the prospective evaluation, and we deliver it either way. After that, the class teacher runs one Sidekick Card a week in weeks 2 to 7, 1 to 5 minutes, with optional 30-second practice moments and a two-minute check-in. The follow-up is designed for about 15 minutes a week, including no more than five minutes of preparation. Separately, a school adult remains present during the Spark as classroom supervision.
The evaluation forms receive class-level totals and teacher responses. They do not collect child names, initials, persistent child codes, seat numbers or pairing tokens. The school agrees participation, transfer, storage, access and retention before collection. Safeguarding records follow the school’s separate procedure. Yes. The Designated Safeguarding Lead for Pocket Money Adventures is Nathan Waldron, and the Deputy DSL is Bernadette Houlton. Nathan’s enhanced DBS certificate was issued on 1 June 2026. Barred-list checks were not requested; Update Service membership is not verified. We confirm the appropriate safeguarding and DBS position for each actual delivery role with the host, including any eligible further checks, before attendance. Pocket Money Adventures is never alone with children, and the class teacher is in the room throughout. The Safeguarding Policy, Safeguarding Handbook and DBS Statement are all in the document pack.
You will receive an instruction email explaining the next steps. Your headteacher completes and returns the online school setup form, including the partnership confirmations. Then share your personalised teacher link with each class teacher and reply to the instruction email when preparation is complete. We confirm the booking once the school setup, funding and delivery arrangements are agreed in writing; sponsor funds must clear before a sponsored date is confirmed.
Complete the school setup linked in your booking email, forward the personalised teacher link, and read the current teacher quickstart. Each teacher completes three starting ratings. If joining evaluation, agree local participation and data handling before the class captures. Four optional Family Missions go home in weeks 1 to 4; nothing returns to school.
