Pocket Money Adventures CIC
A session that changes how children think about money

Pocket Money Adventures is a financial literacy programme built for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. One in-class launch session, a simple weekly routine your teacher leads over seven weeks, and a take-home loop for parents. Sponsor-funded, so it is completely free to your school — and built ready for the 2028 statutory change to the primary curriculum.

How it works

One visit, seven weeks of light-touch classroom practice, and a parent loop that carries it home.

1

The launch session

PMA's founder Nathan Waldron delivers a session of between one hour and 90 minutes in your chosen class, flexed to suit the class — a story, a poster, and the Tap. Tap. Pause. routine. The class teacher is in the room throughout.

2

Seven weeks of practice

The class teacher leads a five-minute daily moment using the Sidekick Cards. Low burden, high repetition. The habit forms through practice, not through a lecture.

3

The parent loop

Parents who opt in get a short weekly prompt — a conversation starter that carries the routine home. School and home in step.

Questions headteachers ask

If your question is not here, email nathan@pocketmoneyadventures.co.uk and we will answer the same day.

Yes. PMA is a Community Interest Company funded by commercial sponsors who believe in early financial literacy. There is no cost to the school — not for the session, the materials, or anything that follows. No catch, no upsell.
Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. The somatic Tap. Tap. Pause. routine does not depend on reading or writing, so it works across the full ability range in those years, including children with SEND.
The session itself runs between one hour and 90 minutes, depending on the class, and is delivered by PMA. After that, the class teacher leads a short five-minute daily moment each week using the Sidekick Cards, across the seven-week programme. That is the whole commitment — about 25 minutes of class time a week.
PMA never holds any child's name or identifiable data. For pilot schools that run research questionnaires, an anonymous code system is used and the code-to-pupil list stays locked at the school. PMA is ICO-registered (ZC124930) and UK GDPR-compliant. The full Privacy Policy and Record of Processing Activities are in the document pack above.
Yes. PMA's Designated Safeguarding Lead is Nathan Waldron, Deputy DSL is Bernadette Houlton. Every PMA person attending a school holds a current Enhanced DBS check before their first visit. PMA is never alone with children — the class teacher is in the room throughout. The Safeguarding Policy, Safeguarding Handbook and DBS Statement are all in the document pack.
One DocuSign envelope, after you book. It contains two short documents — the Headteacher MOU and the Data Processing Agreement — in a single five-minute signing session. Nathan countersigns immediately and you receive a fully signed PDF. That confirms the booking.
Distribute the parent consent letter (PMA sends this two weeks before), and brief the class teacher using the session plan. That is it. The parent consent pack and session plan are both in the document pack above.
Of course. Click "Download documents" at the top of this page, or the button in the trust section above. Every policy — safeguarding, privacy, insurance, risk assessment, the lot — is there as a downloadable PDF. Review whatever you want before you book.
